Beautiful location in the hills not far from St. Catarina. Golf, walking, beach, bowls, fishing all within a few kilometers. Waterfalls and swimming in the natural lake also not far away. The beautiful Ria Formosa is also worth a visit. Spanish border 45 minutes drive. Seville less than 1 1/2 hours drive.
Tavira is the nearest major town. This is the most architecturally attractive town in the Algarve and its origin dates back to around 2.000 BC. This can be reached in 25 minutes and has lots to offer - great restaurants, beaches, historic old town, shops, festivals in the summer. Still has the old Portuguese charm!
Sao Bras is a medium sized town 15 minutes drive away and has restaurants, quality supermarkets, banks, shops etc.
St. Catarina is a small town en route to Sao Bras with pharmacy, bankomat, newspapers and a few cafes.
Fonta do Bispo is local village and it has a few cafes, a quinta which offers Sunday lunches and some entertainment in the evenings.
Nearby is an observatory open to the public, the old fishing villages of St. Lucia, Cabanas and Cacla Velha, lots of great local restaurants and great walking countryside. The area is well known by birdwatchers.
Beaches - several to chose from within a 25 minute drive. Cabanas, Tavira or St Lucia are all family friendly sandy beaches.
Golf - Many new golf course have been built in the eastern part of Algarve in the last few years. You will have a choice of 3 or 4 within a 20 minute drive. | Availability and rental rates |

This is a quiet retreat with total privacy. Its a place for stargazers, people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle and for people who want a family base away from the noise in a beautiful, tranquil location. There are other villas around us but it is completely private. This means however that you need a car! Nearest town is Fonta Do Bispo which is about 1.5 Km. For those who want to check internet, there's excellent 3g coverage via mobile phone or mobile modem
